With the season 4 premier recently on my mind I drew this last night. As with a lot of my drawings lately it were only supposed to be a doodle to get it out of my system, but I liked it enough to keep adding to it. Decided to experiment with a more noticeable shading in the style of my older drawings with soft shading, except this time, giving it more contrast. I had planned to do the typical pink mane of Tia since it were “only a doodle” as well but as I experimented with the airbrush it turned out like this! Way better than I expected.
A silly picture of Queen Abraxo I decided to do for the folks over at /foe/, once again using FireAlpaca.
The warm colored pony to the left is Amber Waves from the main fic btw. What a way to get fan art for the first time, huh?
Nsfw version here of course.
My two print orders from DeviantArt just arrived. I did NOT expect them to be this big! =D
I have no recent experience whatsoever when it comes to prints, so I thought it were a decent price for their size, especially since I payed mostly in points anyway. But I mistook inches for cm somehow. xD
It’s a big fuck up, but big are the prints as well! <3 The colors are perfect and the paper is nice and thick. All in a well protected package.
Fallout Equestria 2 - WinterPip 30 x 45 inch
Lying among some serious Hardware 12 x 18 inch
Now I just need to find fitting frames for these awesome things.
I’ve recently realized that not many seems to know that, ever since June back in 2012, I’ve officially had commissions open for anyone to drop in. It’s something I haven’t been clear on at all, (especially on tumblr) but I’m now looking to change that because of the recent increase in popularity.
So now I’ve officially closed my commissions for a number of reasons.
The stacked amount of commissions being one of course, but also the fact that my main way of drawing has slowed down in pace considerably. This being caused by artist-block and a loss of motivation, the typical teenage-restrictions and such when it comes to computers and everything digital and of course the increase of studying. The process has became agonizingly slow lately because of these things and I’m sure there’s many artists out there that knows exactly what I’m talking about.
"But you’ve been drawing several non-commissioned pictures recently! What about them?"
Well, as mentioned, I have restrictions (rules) on computer usage because of things I’m sure no one truly cares about. (it’s complicated to the point where even I am not sure why they are there anymore) This means that access to my Windows based PC is very limited since it’s stationary. But my Macbook Air is not, meaning that I can carry it and draw on the go.
Or, you know, open it up for a bit during nighttime.
Anyway, Paint.SAI, the software I use for my more detailed, soft shaded pictures (which were the kinds being commissioned) only works on Windows. Firealpaca on the other hand, works on both iOS and Windows. What it does lack are some of the tools and features I use within .SAI for commissions. This led me to my most recent, cartoony look that I’ve been doing lately when I’m drawing purely for fun, which goes down quite differently in technique.
So, since my new technique seems to be working so effectively, I suspect that to get on the right track again I will have to combine these two techniques somehow. But until then, I’ll have to slowly plow through.
Commissions are closed because reasons.
Commissions already on order are being worked on, though slowly.
When I decide to open them again I will most likely open up about 2 to 4 slots depending on the sizes and try to get them done in a faster fashion. I’ll also make sure to get proper pricing as well as getting proper options to choose from.
Other than that, I think I’m done! Have a good night, everyone!
Nope, or well, not exactly. I’ve been taking commissions for some time now and have several on the way. The amount of time I’ve gotten to actually work on them have worsened though and it kind of worries me. I hate having people wait so long. :/ I’ll probably make a post soon, detailing the whole commission thing. I’ve postponed it enough already.
Then there’s the occasional moment (which have grew to happen more and more often) where I’m stuck with my Macbook. Out of ideas, I sometimes visit /mlp/ to see if they have anything interesting for me to draw. If they do, they usually end up either here or on my other blog. I’ve also doodled things that have been suggested through asks as well, but the asks themselves haven’t always been present in those posts.
How my day was? I were actually surprised at such a casual question to appear on here. The day had its highs and lows, etc, but I’m quite happy in the end. :P
Crimson and Eos doing some snuggles as a thank you to Kippershy for writing a certain short fic. These two are both from Broken Bonds, a Fallout Equestria sidefic that he’s writing. I’ve not read it myself yet, but I’ve planned to try it out eventually. ^^
Posting without bg as well as I were conflicted about whether I wanted strong contrast or not. So there you go!
Pillow Case from the fic with the same name. I loved the concept and thought she were adorable, so I sat up and drew her. Hopefully the car interiors doesn’t look too horrifyingly bad.
Also hot damn, I actually did something not FoE that weren’t just a completely random doodle. I might upload it to DevArt later as well.
I had a serious surge of inspiration earlier today to doodle this and have been experimenting with it all day. Pretty much popped up from reading a conversation about mares with snipers and watching an awesome anime show for the first time. Combined it became this.
This artstyle feels really inviting for me to draw. The black line art gives a grittier feeling than the usual colorful one, no sketching, just flow. There’s so much better flow it’s amazing. It’s faster and barely any artist-blocks appears like they’ve done recently with my other drawings. As you can see I’ve actually shaded and such this time too, which I haven’t ever done before with these “doodle’s”.
It feels so good.
I really have to find a way to get this flow into my usual style again.
A picture (pictures) of Legokillerian’s PnP character, Velvet Sparkle that I made recently. Apparently she’s supposed to look younger than this, so if you want to feel canon’ish then I guess you can just imagine that this is her older self!
I actually had a ton of fun with this one, even though I’ve never known of the character since before. The lower picture you are seeing is a pair of versions with a slight fashion difference I prefered myself. I understand it doesn’t exactly fit the setting though. :P
Which means if you are ever looking to draw her, please check the top picture for reference and not the bottom one.
Commissioned by LegoKillerian!
This picture took longer than I had hoped for, but it’s finally finished! I’ll be honest, coming up with details and such is a lot harder when working on commissions compared to when you are doing work entirely out of your mind. I hope it turned out for the best anyway! :)
Have a nice day.
